As part of Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute, CCHE collaborates with investigators, biostatisticians, and programmers. In addition, we maintain affiliations with nationally recognized experts who serve as evaluation advisors.
Natasha has interests in quantitative analysis, mixed-methods evaluations, implementation evaluations, and clinical quality improvement. She recently led the evaluations of several telehealth-related learning collaboratives and the implementation evaluation for the Kaiser Permanente medical-legal partnership. She also practices clinically as a speech-language pathologist with a focus on early language development in children. Natasha has a BA in applied mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley and an MS in speech-language pathology from the University of Washington.
Lauren manages large-scale, mixed-methods evaluations focused on digital health expansion, access to care, safety net capacity building, and multi-sector collaboration. Her interests include health systems innovation, health policy, reimbursement, and community-driven coalitions. Lauren has over ten years of experience in evaluation, public health, and public policy. She has led government relations, community benefit, and public affairs at some of the nation’s preeminent academic and research medical systems. She also researched international training standards for Indigenous community health workers as a Fulbright Scholar. Lauren earned her MPH from the University of Washington and her BA from Rice University.
Emily has over 20 years of experience in evaluation and brings collaborative leadership and evaluation consulting experience in community and health care settings, and experience with mixed methods research, project direction, and strategic planning for community health investments. In addition to her management role, as a principal investigator, Emily’s recent work includes several large-scale, multi-year evaluations at the intersection of health and community development, and strategy assessments to inform foundation strategies. Emily holds a BA in biological sciences from Smith College, and an MPH and MHA from the University of Washington.
Diana has over 15 years of experience working in evaluation and research, conducting data collection and analysis in the social sector using mixed methods designs and a collaborative approach. Her experience lies in the evaluation of initiatives focsued on access to health and social supports, healthier communities for all , community health initiatives focused on policy and systems change, as well as environmental scans and impact evaluations to inform strategic planning. She has a background in education and project management. Diana earned her master’s degree in teaching and her bachelor’s degree in cultural geography, both from the University of Washington.
Allen was CCHE's director from 2011 to June 2018. His interests include methods of community-based research, evaluations of comprehensive community initiatives, and the evaluation of clinical and community systems change initiatives. Allen seeks to continue and expand CCHE’s work in evaluating community initiatives, working with foundations to build the capacity of community-based organizations, and helping safety-net organizations improve the care they provide in underserved communities. Crystal has a background in mixed‑methods research, project management, and stakeholder engagement. She collaborates with diverse partners to implement data collection efforts and identify actionable, data‑driven insights that support health and systems change. Her interests center on advancing healthier communities for everyone and integrating quantitative and qualitative data. Crystal earned an MPH from the Colorado School of Public Health with a concentration in Global Health and Health Disparities.
Nelly has a background in education, public policy, and program implementation, with experience in mixed‑methods research, developmental and emergent evaluation, survey design, and data analysis. She specializes in translating data into actionable insights and supporting partners in continuous learning and improvement. Nelly earned her Master of Public Policy from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and her BA in political science and German from Linfield College.
Eric provides administrative support to the CCHE team and its projects. His interests include public health policy and health disparities. He earned a BA in journalism and public relations from the University of Minnesota.
Sparrow has a background in administrative support, financial processing, and elder care. Their passion for mutual advocacy has led them to promote advancements in workplace accessibility throughout their career. Their interests include linguistics, disability activism, and the improvement and normalization of end-of-life care. They have an AA in English from Whatcom Community College.
Abby has a public health background in program evaluation and project/data management in clinical and community research settings. Some of her favorite work has been in direct service with youth and families around HIV/AIDS and nutrition programming in Tacoma, Denver and Boston. She aims to bring an inclusive, continuous improvement mindset to her work. Some of her recent projects include connecting people experiencing homelessness and with disabilities to health care, implementing pediatric practice transformation, examining root causes of water inequities, and exploring learning agendas within philanthropy. Abby earned her BA from the University of Puget Sound (International Political Economy) and an MPH from Boston University (Social and Behavioral Sciences).
Maggie Jones, MPH is Director of the Center for Community Health and Evaluation (CCHE), where she leads efforts to strengthen health systems, support community-based initiatives, and build evaluation capacity. With more than twenty years of experience in public health, Maggie has evaluated large-scale efforts with foundations, health systems, government agencies, non-profits, and community coalitions. Her evaluation approach emphasizes collaboration and adaptability, ensuring that evaluation results are relevant and useful to organizations and the communities they serve. Through these efforts, she has helped organizations learn what works and share those lessons broadly to improve systems and expand opportunities for communities. Maggie holds an MPH from the University of Washington and a BS in Business from the University of Minnesota.
Kate has a background in global health, mixed methods clinical research studies, and community-based evaluation across a range of settings. She joined CCHE in 2021 and most recently supported a highly collaborative process to complete national-level implementation of KP's community health needs assessments that emphasized understanding access to health and social supports across communities. Her previous work focused on adolescent health, in particular the role of schools in promoting the health and well-being of teens. Kate earned her MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and her BA in political science from the University of Michigan.
Noon has been a part of the CCHE team since 2011. She enjoys supporting a wide range of topics, from healthcare tech innovations to school-based health education programs to firearm injury prevention programs. She has a long-standing passion for addressing inequities in access, education, and outcomes for marginalized communities and supporting broad health literacy. Her approach emphasizes understanding perspectives and underlying motivations in order to support design of initiatives and programs that help everyone advance their goals. She earned her MPH and PhD from the University of Washington’s public health epidemiology program, and BS degrees from Emory University in Anthropology and Neuroscience.
Trang has a background in mixed-methods and community-based participatory research, including evaluations of programs and initiatives that promote health of women and children. Her interests include using data for community advocacy and health systems transformation. She received her MPH in community-oriented public health practice from the University of Washington.
Carly has a background in quantitative analysis and special interest in communicating results in ways that engage stakeholders. Her research interests include reducing disparities in quality of care and health outcomes. Carly earned her MPH from the University of Washington’s Health Metrics and Evaluation program and her BA in medical sociology and statistics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Melita has a public health background in mixed-methods evaluation, program management, and quality and process improvement. Her work at CCHE includes evaluation of initiatives focused on clinical quality improvement and expanding clinical and organizational capacity. Melita earned her MPH from the University of Washington.
Juno has been a part of the CCHE team since 2009, and has worked on a wide variety of projects. Her work has mainly focused on evaluating community based obesity prevention, school based health, clinical-community linkage programs, and Kaiser Permanente community health investments. She earned a BS in health ecology from the University of Nevada, Reno and holds an MBA in healthcare management from WGU.
Lina has a background in program management, and mixed-methods research and evaluation of national and local programs and policies that promote healthy, livable communities for all. Lina brings content area expertise in nutrition security programming and food and nutrition policy, with experience working across health and social health topic areas. Lina received her MPH in community-oriented public health practice from the University of Washington, and her BA in Sociology, Anthropology, and Spanish from Carleton College.
Monika has a background in economics, public policy, education, and community research. Her interests include health and wellness in schools, early childhood and family support, and cross-sector community collaborations. Monika received her master’s degree from the Department of Social Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Lisa joined the CCHE team in 2010 and currently manages several evaluation projects related to philanthropic grantmaking and health care transformation. She has a background in public health and qualitative and mixed methods evaluation. Her experience includes community-based health improvement, clinical quality improvement, trauma- and resilience-informed care, strategic learning, and evaluation capacity building. Lisa received her MPH in community-oriented public health practice from the University of Washington.
Melissa brings more than two decades of experience as a researcher and analyst across public health, government, military, and technology settings. Her work focuses on health education, strengthening community health, infectious disease, chronic disease interventions, and evaluation of clinical practice. Her research integrates qualitative and quantitative approaches, with particular strength in quantitative analysis. She holds a PhD from Walden University.
