Neighborhood Health Link—Connect to gyms, playgrounds, and healthy cooking classes
Explore healthy living in Washington’s two most populous counties with Neighborhood Health Link, an online resource sponsored by Group Health
Your neighborhood may hold hidden treasures like market gardens, pocket playgrounds, or free and low-cost classes. If you live in Washington’s King and Pierce counties, Neighborhood Health Link is your online portal to these local gems. Use the site to search for the closest weight-loss programs, parks, pools, and other resources. You can filter results by distance, age group, availability times and more.
Neighborhood Health Link is a community product itself. It’s a joint effort by Group Health, its Center for Community Health and Evaluation at Group Health Research Institute, and the national Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute. Support also came from the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Pacific Northwest Region. In a post for Dragonfly, the Network’s news site, Carol Cahill, manager of Neighborhood Health Link, tells the project’s origin story. She explains lessons learned while developing the resource and outlines its future.
